RIP my CHI hair straightener, this thing lasted me 8 years and has never let me down. I remember the good times, getting ready for prom and dances... my first day at my first job...now I'm in business school, and yesterday it just stopped working.

I'm buying another one, and hopefully it gets me 8 more years.

I have to say I am incredibly shocked to hear that some people's irons quit working. I've had this iron for 3 years and I never had a problem. In fact I love it and couldn't imagine my life without it. I use it daily, on the highest heat setting possibly because I have very thick and wavy hair to combat in Texas weather. I have also used it many times on my children's hair at differing heat levels. Perhaps, the model I received 3 years ago was of better quality. As far as I know, it works wonderfully! Best iron I've ever owned.

I recieved this item and it "worked" for 2 weeks. It did not get very hot at all. I had to send it back because it stopped working out of no where. Very dissapointed!
